Conveniently located in central St Petersburg in Pinellas County, Florida,
Rock 'n' Blues Academy caters to music lovers of all ages! We provide a relaxed, fun, and family-friendly atmosphere for aspiring musicians ages four to adult.

We offer private and group lessons on just about any instrument imaginable, work with student bands, host concerts for our students, hold benefit concerts, offer music summer camps for kids, rent rehearsal space for local bands, and most importantly, we have fun and provide a safe and fun outlet for that creative energy while helping our students acquire musical skills that will provide a lifetime of enjoyment!

Meet Dave Shepard

Dave Shepard is the owner and founder of Rock 'n' Blues Academy. Dave founded Rock 'n' Blues Academy to pass on his lifelong love of music to future generations. Dave is an experienced musician who can play and teach just about any instrument, and he created his patented "Shep Level System" as a fun and easy way to teach music theory to his students, and to ensure that all students at the Rock 'n' Blues Academy learn and build their skills based on the same foundation of knowledge. All students start our at "Shep Level 1" and progress at their own pace.

Dave and his band, The Blues Riders, have opened for such well-known acts as The Marshall Tucker Band. He continues to teach as his schedule allows and you can see him around the Rock 'n' Blues Academy on a regular basis.
